First Confession and Holy Communion Programme
Now is the time to start thinking about the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion if your child is in year 3 at school.
We begin the process with a meeting for parents only in the month of October. We begin by preparing the children to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time in December. From January we prepare for First Holy Communion and this usually celebrated in late May or early June.
There are a series of 9 Saturday morning workshops that children MUST attend these run from 9.15 am to 10.45 am. Each of these workshops is followed up on Sunday Morning at the 9.30 am Mass. Again, attendance is essential. If a child misses several workshops or masses it could mean they are not fully prepared and would have to wait another year.
We use 2 books and these need to be paid for at the parents meeting. The total cost is £10 cheques made payable to St Joseph’s Parish Bedford.
Please complete an application form and return to the priests as soon as possible. If your child was not Baptised at St Joseph’s or Our Lady’s we will need to see a copy of their baptismal certificate at the parents meeting in October.
I look forward to sharing this journey with you. If you have any questions please contact me on 213228 or email: email@example.com
