Pope Benedict XVI

We were all taken by surprise at the Pope’s announcement that he is to resign on 28^th February. It is a personal decision made before God in prayer because of failing health and strength. Let us pray for him as he enters retirement to serve the Church through a life dedicated to prayer. Bishop Peter Doyle invites us to join him in Northampton Cathedral on Thursday 28^th February at 7pm for a Mass to give thanks for Pope Benedict, to ask God’s blessing and to mark this solemn moment in the life of the Church.
